Dr. Lauren Waling, PT, DPT, FAAOMPT
Dr. Lauren Waling, PT completed her fellowship through the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists.
Dr. Lauren is part of the 2% of all 312,000+ therapists nationwide who have completed an accredited fellowship. She received a post-professional education with a focus on musculoskeletal conditions, advanced manual techniques and research. She has treated athletes from the NFL Combine, Olympic sprinters, stage production, pro tennis players and Crossfit Games athletes. Her passion is helping athletes and active adults return to what they love quickly.
In addition, Dr. Lauren is Manual Therapy Certified, Dry Needling Certified and is a Certified Ergonomic Assessment Specialist.
She is faculty for The Manual Therapy Institute Fellowship Program and at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. Dr. Waling stays up to date with the most current research and treatment techniques.
On the weekends, she can be found spending time with family, on the water with her paddle board or traveling.
Jonathan Bray, PT, DPT, EdD, MS, FAAOMPT
Practice:
Jonathan brings 15+ years of experience to the clinic. He has specialized in working with patients of all ages presenting with orthopedics disorders. Jonathan has worked with athletes at the beginner, recreational, high school, college, Olympic, and professional levels. In addition, he has worked with the performing arts population including multiple off Broadway and ballet productions. Jonathan uses an orthopedic manual therapy model with a focus on clinical reasoning and hands on approach in working with his patients. He is regularly sought out and consulted to work with patients who have complex cases.
Education:
Jonathan received a Bachelor of Health Science in 2003 and his Master of Physical Therapy degree in 2005 from Quinnipiac University. He completed a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Utica College in 2017 and a Doctorate in Education from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in 2022. Jonathan has completed a fellowship in Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy through the Manual Therapy Institute and has attained the status as a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists. Only 2% of therapists in the United States have achieved this status.
Work:
Jonathan is the Assistant Program Director and an Assistant Professor at the University of St. Augustine’s Miami Campus DPT program. He teaches in the orthopaedic courses in the curriculum. He also currently serves as both teaching and mentoring faculty for the Manual Therapy Institute’s Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy fellowship program. In addition, Jonathan is faculty for dry needling certification at the Florida Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy. Prior to his faculty appointment he served as an area director for over 12 occupational medicine clinics in New England. Jonathan served as an officer in the United States Army Reserve for over eight years as a member of the Army Medical Specialist Corps holding multiple leadership roles. In these roles Jonathan has lectured nationally and internationally.
Certifications:
Jonathan is a certified clinical instructor through the American Physical Therapy Association. He has completed level 1 and level 2 medical certifications through the Titleist Performance Institute. Jonathan is certified in dry needling through the Florida Institute of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy. He holds certifications in ergonomics through the Back School of Atlanta and in Applied Functional Science from the Gray Institute.
Service:
Jonathan is active in the Florida Physical Therapy Association currently serving on the board of directors as the Southeast District Regional Director and previously as the districts Director of Practice. He was selected to serve on the Accreditation Council on Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy Education which is responsible for setting accreditation standards, policies, and procedures, and making accreditation decisions for Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy programs in the United States following the standards developed by the International Federation of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy
